Today on 10 October 2023 World Mental Health was celebrated where in different activities were carried out in government hospital Sarwal under the theme ‘Mental Health for All.’This event started with poster making competition among students of different paramedical institutes which was followed by lectures and awareness by different consultants and students regarding the subject. The main focus was on awareness regarding substance abuse and suicidal tendencies among youth, how to cope up with stress and depression, lifestyle, modification and role of meditation & physical exercises to reduce the stress and anxiety among the masses.
Yesterday the team from Government Hospital Sarwal headed by Dr Vijay Raina Medical Superintendent paid a visit to Mother Taresa Missionary of Charity New Plot Jammu and joined hands with authorities present to work together for mitigation of the sufferings of the mentally challenged, and special abled people


Blood Donation Camp Under Ayushman Bhav Campaign 2023 Inaugurated by MS Sarwal Hospital in Collaboration with Amar Ujala in presence of MS Govt. Hospital Gandhi Nagar. (Incharge of Blood Bank Gandhi nagar) Medical Superintendent Sarwal Hospital, Dr Vijay Raina joined hands with the leading media house Amar Ujala to organize a Blood Donation Camp under the Ayushman Bhav Campaign 2023. The event took place on 30-09-2023 at GH Sarwal Jammu, and witnessed the selfless contribution of 10 donors who generously donated their blood to save lives. The Ayushman Bhav Campaign, aimed at promoting healthcare and wellness, received a significant boost with this collaborative effort between two renowned healthcare institutions and a leading media organization. The event's primary objective was to encourage voluntary blood donation, raise awareness about the importance of blood donation, and ultimately contribute to the well-being of the community. The Blood Donation Camp commenced with a ceremonial inauguration ceremony where MS Gandhinagar Hospital, MS Sarwal Hospital and Amar Ujala came together to stress the importance of blood donation in the context of healthcare. Dr. Vijay Raina, the Medical Superintendent of Sarwal Hospital, expressed his gratitude and stated, "Blood donation is an act of compassion and selflessness. During the camp, all 10 blood donors were presented with a Letter of Appreciation and a token of gratitude to recognize their exceptional contribution to the cause of blood donation. Swachhata Hi Seva, Ek Tarikh, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath, under this campaign, today on 1st October 2023, massive cleanliness drive was undertaken in Government Hospital Sarwal under the theme of SHS, 2023 "Garbage Free India" where in the focus was visual cleanliness and welfare of Safai Mitra. At the begining all the staff of the hospital gathered at sharp 10 AM and got involved in a massive cleanliness drive in different areas of the hospital, already assigned. And this was followed by multiple cultural activities and poster makings done by paramedical, staff and students of the paramedical institution in the complex of the hospital. The Event got concluded with felicitation of all Safia Mitras (sanitation warriors) with Mementos and cash award, Voluntarily contributed by the administration and doctors of the hospital.


As per the directions of higher authorities PINK ZONE has been created at Govt hospital Sarwal for the mother & child care at hospital.

World Environment Day 2023 was celebrated today on 5 th June at Govt Hospital Sarwal Jammu in which MS ,Dy MS ,Consultants ,Medical Officers ,Paramedical Staff ,Nursing Staff and students of different paramedical institutes participated. The celebrations started with a two minute silence observed for those who lost their lives in the recent train accident in Odisha. Medical Superintendent Dr Vijay Raina started the celebration by addressing the gathering and elaborating the importance of the day with regards to its theme # Beat Plastic Pollution .He even directed the gathering to start the campaign of not using plastic at any cost and said that i want support from you all to Make Govt Hospital Sarwal plastic free . After that a rally was organised by the hospital administration in which students of different paramedical institutes participated with banners in their hands and shouting slogans to make India Plastic free. The rally went around Sarwal market and adjoining areas.

On 01-06-2023 fire safety mock drill was successfully completed in the Hospital premises, conducted by Hospital Administration and J & K Fire & Emergency Service at 2: 00 pm in the hospital premises. The hospital staff including doctors, nurses and support personnel were able to follow the fire safety protocols and procedures accurately. At the outset lecture cum demonstration was given by Mr. Kiran Ji Raina, Fire Safety officer and his team. The drill included a simulation of a fire outbreak in the hospital premises and the incident was quickly responded to, and the fire safety measures were used to contain and prevent it from spreading to other areas. During demonstration and hands-on training regarding the operationalization of different types of fire extinguishers was imparted to the staff. The visiting fire safety officers also used the fire tenders and other fire safety equipment for such drills. After the drill , a debriefing session was held where the performance of staff was evaluated and areas for improvement were identified. Overall the fire safety drill was a success. It is pertinent to mention here that such fire safety drill was conducted on the written request of Hospital administration and such type of drill has happened for the first time in the GH Sarwal, Jammu.
